The Story
I'm one of those who know what an acoustic coupler is. Which is a tool
of early internet machines. And I'm a kinetic artist. So I loved to
collect colleagues in the net since early times. First the links of my
artists website inceased more and more. Then I gave it a push and tried to
organize a kinetic workshop for artists from the European neighborhood and invited
also Rein Triefedt whose name sounds very German. Nobody came except Rein, who already booked the fly from America. I was
was sorry about the workshop did not take place and promised good compensation. So we visited artists on their places. We met
Peter Stühlen,
Ulrich Wersterfrölke,
Christine Stamer and
Ralf Gschwend and others. in August 2001 we had a nice time in the villa of Ralfonso in Geneva/CH who wanted to become a kinetic artist. Later he elected himself to the President of the KAO which seames to be a big thing but is only a selfpromoting bleb. We (Kineticus.org and Kugelbahne.ch) tried to make a web ring with him but made bad experience. The KAO has nothing in common with our idea. I want to share my knowledge of interactive website programming with you to present a rather neutral and easy-to-handle database of kinetic art. Sometimes I dream of a self-governed website with democratic elements. Kineticus is a framework for kinetic artists. All artistic content where uploaded by the artists themself, except they asked for help. Kineticus don't selling art and there is no need to give money for hosting so it isn't a gallery in legal sense. |
